One of the most energizing parts of working in real estate is seeing firsthand how our work impacts people’s lives, and seeing how motivated our customers are to provide people with a place to call home. Everyone deserves a safe and stable place to live.

Yet today in the U.S., for every 100 renter households that are classified as extremely low-income, there are only 35 rental units both available and affordable. At AppFolio, we see it as our opportunity and responsibility to help. This is what drives our long-term partnership with Habitat for Humanity through the AppFolio Gives Back philanthropy program. It’s a privilege to contribute our time, energy and dollars working with Habitat to help build and improve homes for families.

This year, we wanted to take things a step further by showcasing the amazing work our customers are doing to give back. We debuted the 🌟FutuREist Awards🌟 at AppFolio’s 2024 FUTURE Conference to celebrate customers that are building a better future. As a part of this recognition, AppFolio will be making a donation to each winner’s charitable partner.

It was a pleasure to honor our inaugural winners on the stage, and I want to take another opportunity to congratulate these companies:

🤝 The Future of Community

Atlas Management LLC has a growing presence across the Pacific Northwest, and their mission is to provide exceptional service not only to their clients but also to the communities their residents call home. Every year Atlas gives their employees 20 hours of paid volunteer time off to assist local organizations and causes. Since 2016, their team has donated an astonishing 5,000 hours of volunteer time! From providing family assistance to those impacted by childhood cancer to planting trees and gardens in their communities and removing the financial barriers to participating in youth sports, this team is making a big impact. Atlas Management is creating the Future of Community. 

🏠 The Future of Attainable Housing

Launch Property Management is a mission-driven real estate firm in Louisville, Kentucky. They partner with resettlement agencies to provide workforce housing to refugee and immigrant families arriving from Haiti, Ukraine, Afghanistan, and many other countries around the world. Launch’s high-touch approach to property management helps them provide housing to 40% of all refugees entering Louisville. So far this year, they’ve signed leases with almost 400 families who are now contributing to the economy and culture of their cities, and achieving their dreams. Launch Property Management is creating the Future of Attainable Housing. 

🧭 The Future of Leadership

Do Good Property Management is based in Boise, Idaho, and the name truly speaks for itself. They donate 5% of all profits earned to support the impactful work of the Tomorrow’s Adventure Foundation, which is dedicated to empowering communities through partnerships with local and international non-profits. Over the past year, Do Good has proudly donated nearly $35,000 to support a variety of worthy causes that directly improve lives. 

Do Good actively fosters a spirit of volunteerism among their team, partnering with organizations like Ronald McDonald House, Wild Hearts of Idaho, Sleep in Heavenly Peace and Because International to empower youth, support vulnerable families, and promote safety and well-being. Through their Christmas for a Tenant program, they provide essential support to a struggling family within one of their properties during the holiday season. Do Good’s commitment to social responsibility creates opportunities for team members, owners, residents and vendors to give back and build a stronger, more vibrant community. Do Good is creating the Future of Leadership.
