A Vision to Redefine Property Management

Brooks’ passion for property management started long before he founded 2B Living Property Management in 2010. For him, it began as a resident when he lived in New York City.

“My motivation to start 2B Living came from my experience as a resident in New York City. I had a terrible experience and thought there had to be a better way for property management to exist. That became the roots of 2B Living — to create a property management company that actually cared about its residents while providing a good experience.”

With this vision in mind, he moved back to his hometown in the Bay Area in California, founded 2B Living, and became “committed to finding a better and more efficient way to run a property management business.”

In the early days, 2B Living’s focus was on ‌small mom-and-pop owners. Now, they actively manage a booming portfolio of 5,000+ units that span across many different types of properties, focusing on clients who own real estate and want to hire 2B Living to manage their properties.

A Growth Mindset

As the owner and operator of 2B Living, Brooks quickly learned that the property management industry faced other challenges. His previous solution lacked many features and ultimately slowed things down.

“The property management industry has changed dramatically over the last 10 years. Founded on a simple premise of ‘there has to be a better way to manage properties,’ we needed a technology partner to have a joint commitment to do just that together, without the inability to innovate quickly, adapt, and pivot.

We enthusiastically left our previous software solution and have never looked back. Using AppFolio Property Manager has led us to build a great business and continue to grow and scale without sacrificing the quality of what we do.

We’ve expanded rapidly, adding 1,500 units to AppFolio last year — a significant achievement considering we started on AppFolio in 2015 with just 400 units.”
